Earl Gray Hot Cocoa

Here is a flavorful concoction incorporating two of my favorite things: Chocolate and Tea.  With bergamot (orange) scented milk this Earl Gray Hot Cocoa is sure to please any adventurous epicure.



3 cups whole milk

2 Earl Gray tea bags

3 tbs cocoa powder

3 tbs sugar

Between 2 mugs, divide the cocoa powder and sugar evenly.  Add a splash of milk to cover dry ingredients and stir to dissolve.  This helps incorporate the dry ingredients so they don’t float to the top of the milk.


Heat milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat, whisking occasionally.  When warm, place tea bags in and steep for 8 minutes.


Whisk vigorously to create frothy bubbles in the tea-scented milk.


Divide the milk between the two glasses and mix well.  Sprinkle with cocoa powder to garnish.
